  How far forward or aft could Kearsage fire with steering sails? &lt;br&gt; Nobody like setting fire to their own sails. &lt;br&gt; Rigging a jury rudder is hard enough with an enemy pouring shot into &lt;br&gt; your stern where you are trying to rig it. &lt;br&gt; Having Kearsage underway would cause no problems for Alabama to &lt;br&gt; maneuver to keep on her stern firing the entire time.
