Guys,

It's not the fans who'll take boxing out, it's politicians. Imagine if you
were a Federal Politician Now. Wouldn't you just love to make a name for
yourself in putting an end to all of this? Unless Oscar de La Hoya and
Kostya Tszyu can get it on PRONTO I reckon we'll see an abolitionist bill in
Congress soon. With Kostya having just lost and Oscar having upgraded to
147 pounds, I can't see that happening soon. Over here in Australia, they're
thinking of taking Boxing out of the Olympics. That would be the beginning
of the end.

Sorry, but I really see this as overkill. ONe man is as likely to
injure boxing as one drunk can injure Cutty Sark. Let's not blow what
happened on Sat eve way out of proportion. If boxing is outlawed, it's
not going to be because of Tyson. Anyway, I think it highly unlikely
that boxing will be outlawed. We'll simply get what we got with
prohibition: a lot of underground, unregulated, brawls. Perhaps we'll
even add a new word, like speakeasy, to our lexicons: brawleasy.

What was up with Tyson with his pathetic performace as a boxer. I guess
with that ear biting thing going, it only brought back all those good
memories of his pillow biting he did in prision. I wish Tyson could keep
it in the bedroom rather than show such a sorry display of his affection
for the male gender. There are better ways of coming out of the closet.

Boxing fans are the biggest hypocrites in the world. Fans are willing to
pay $6000 to sit at ringside and watch a couple of guys beat each other's
brains out. Fans are willing to pay $60.00 to sit at home and watch the
carnage on television. After he was cut from a headbutt, if Tyson had
angrily punched Holyfield in the head and intentionally sent him into a
coma, causing permanent brain damage or death; it would have been
considered perfectly acceptable and within the rules of boxing.

Because Tyson retaliated by biting Evander's ear, we suddenly make Tyson
out to be some kind of wild, rabid, savage beast. All of a sudden he is a
despicable creep who does not belong in civilized society or boxing. Am I
the only one who sees the utter absurdity of this surrealistic tableau?
Two big powerful men are paid millions of dollars to go into a ring and
throw punches at each other's heads. The punches thrown are lethal enough
to scramble the brain matter of both contestants. Yet death or permanent
disfigurement are permissable as long as you dont nibble your opponent's
ears.

That was no nibble Tyson did, it was a bite! My wife nibbles on my ear
and never takes a chunk out of it. Tyson should have learned not to bite
in preschool. If you think boxing is so absurd then why are you even in
this news group?

Television sports "news" has almost nothing to do with "journalism".

Actually The fights on the undercard were all good fights, and I
enjoyed all of them.

Boxing is boxing..whether it goes 12 rounds or only 30 seconds into
the first round..Anything can happen. Take it or leave it.
