Took today off to enjoy the beautiful Orlando weather, spent the entire day at Epcot, the Annual Food & Wine Festival ends this weekend. Went to 4 different Wine Tasting presentations, ate some great Fish & Chips in the United Kingdom then headed over to the American Gardens Theatre for the 3 Southside Johnny Shows. For those of you who don't know, during the Food & Wine Festival, Disney has the "Eat to the Beat" Concert Series. Various artists/groups perform a few nights (as little as two and many as four) and they perform 3 short (between 30-45 minute) shows. Southside Johnny has never appeared at Disney, and they were scheduled two nights, last night and tonight. I could not make last night's shows, and it rained pretty hard last night. We saw all three shows tonight, all from the 3rd row. All three shows were different and Johnny did not repeat any song thought the night. I have a bunch of photos I took, some good, some blurry, but I hope this link works to get you to them:
Rich and I were joking around about coming down for the shows - we even had our story ready for Johnny since he sees us every year in Hampton Beach "What are you two doing here?" "What do you mean?.. We live here and drive up every Labor Day weekend to see you in Hampton Johnny" ;-)
glad you enjoyed the shows Michael and hope to see you again in Orlando sometime soon.

Funny you should mention this. We were standing in line with a guy who lives in Orlando, and every year he plans his vacation around a Labor Day Weekend Show up in the New England area. He said two years ago he went up and got into a Meet N Greet with SS and had photos of him and Johnny.
Also, while I am on the subject, you would not believe how many people standing in line had no idea who SSJ&TAJ were! Because the shows are basically free (with park admission) there are a lot of Locals who attend a lot of the shows because they have season passes to Disney. Can't tell you how many times I had to try to describe SSJ's type of music "Bluesy Rock with a NJ Shore influence" You this that's it in a nutshell?

Southside is usually in a really good mood at the Hampton Beach shows - everyone should come on up next year! they even got rid of the awful seating and you can stand and dance now.
Mary-Ellen (needs to find and scan in the photo of myself and Debbie showing Johnny our Bad Girl tattoos)
