I enountered the same issue. When I contacted google about this they
wrote back with the following:

"While Google Apps doesn't currently support the functionality you've
requested, we are testing many new things.

I'll forward your feature request to the appropriate team. In the
future,
you can submit your requests by clicking 'Suggest a feature' at the
bottom
of your control panel. We appreciate hearing from our users, and value
all
of the help you offer while we improve Google Apps."
