I use Google Chrome, and I need to disable the constant pop up Google
Translate, I speak 3 languages and I am tired of getting the popup on
every and each page. Please Help me.
Same problem on Opera 10 since Saturday 18 Oct 2009. Suddenly I
started to get this very annoying Google translate bar on top of the
pages. I wonder how it can be possible that Google has "hijacked" my
Opera browser in such a way? Annd without asking user's permission.
So, how can I get rid of this Google translation pop-up toolbar?
False alarm in case of Opera 10, sorry. I noticed this Google
translate is shown only if page admin has deliberately added the
Google tranlate code into their pages. I had happen to visit more than
one Web site where that was used.
Anyway, I'm going to test this on Google Chrome an find out more about
how to turn it off on Chrome.

Now I have tested this also on Google Chrome and I see Google
Translate pop-up toolbar only on Web pages where it's been included
into page source.
However, here's some feedback for Google Translate developers. It's
nice being able to add such a service on your Web site. Only problem
are the customers who does not need such a translation. If you visit
the Web site on daily bases using PCs like netbooks, where's quite
little vertical space to waste, you really would like to have an
cookie to switch Google Translate toolbar off forever.
Same problem; I happen to have English OS but I speak and read many
other languages -- whenever I have a page that is not in English
Chrome (even the dev version 4) and the latest Firefox both bother me
with the blue Google translate bar. Turning off any translation
features in the Google Toolbar in Firefox did not help, it still
appears. Every day I think I should uninstall Google Toolbar and not
use Chrome, but then I think it is so terrible that Google will maybe
fix it today...

I have the same problem, the translate bar is annoying me. At work I
know I have the google tool bar and have switched it off by clicking
in the toolbar on the socket wrench on the right. But at home I don't
even have the google toolbar and therefore have no options to turn it
off. I'm not gonna install the toolbar just to get rid of a the
translate bar. In fact I don't like the use of toolbars and never
install them.
Do you have a solution for that? Even when I click more information I
still can't switch this thing off. On the discussion pages I only get
information about settings from the toolbar, but I haven't found
anything yet that someone says he doesn't have the toolbar at all.
