When I put a text in English in window of Google Translate and push
Translate - button, new text (in Russian) is on display one second and
then it disappear. Why?
Maybe it's because first text isn't short.
just posted something similar myself - it's basically in an endless
auto-submit loop which makes it unusable (you can't type fast enough!)
- Google can you help?

Strange. I haven't been able to produce the behavior you're
describing.
Could you tell me what browser / operating system you're using, and
give me as much step by step details on how to reproduce the problem?

browser / operating system: Internet Explorer / Widows
I copy a text of news from the site of a newspaper in a window of
"Google Translate" and push down "Translate", a text of translation
display under a window of "Google Translate" just one second and then
it disappear. There is empty under window of Google Translate.
If I use little fragments, a text of translation don't disappear.

Agree, happened yesterday, happens now to me with Russian: take away
some lines in original - doesn't matter which - translated text
appears. Put them back - disappears. English to Russian seemed to
work.
Text used: Olga's message in this forum; Windows XP, IE.
Think it happened with some other language too, for a while.

PS. Russian to other language: problem seems to hinge on text length,
over 3-4 lines = just disappearing glimpse of translation. One
emergency solution, for now: Check the "Suggest better translation"
box, just 1-2 lines show, but it is all there, can be copied & pasted
to text editor.
English to Russian works OK (technically).

I am using a couple of browsers - Chrome 3.0.195.33 and Firefox 3.0.15
- same behaviour on either - on Win XP pro SP 3.
You basically cannot type more than about a single word into the field
on http://translate.google.com/ without the form auto-submitting
before you finish typing. You may get away with entering a single
word, but if you try to type "the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy
dogs" (for example!) you get as far as "the qui" before it submits
itself.

i have the same problem trying to translate french to english. i type
in text and press translate, occasionally it seems to work properly ,
but mostly it flickers up for a second (so I can tantalisingly almost
read it) before it disappears again. very annoying! I use Windows XP
and explorer

I see many people are having this problem, very annoying. The question
I have now is, does the google translate people look at these posts
and do something about solving the problem? Or do we have to email
someone else to get this problem resolved?

Sorry, no, it doesn't work (Nov 21,2009, about 22.00 Swedish time):
Russian text to any of 5 languages tested, translated text doesn't
show. Other language to Russian works OK.
And by the way, quality of translation (Estonian to/from any of 6
languages) has dropped to somewhere around first test version
gobbledygook. So please!! we need the side-by-side to edit some sense
into it.
