*Friend's Day *is a celebration of friendship, held annually on July

The idea for Friend's Day goes back to Argentine teacher, musician, and

who lobbied to turn the anniversary of the first moon
landing<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon_landing>into an
international day of friendship. He argued that on this particular
day, the whole world had been friends of the three

The first official recognition of the day came with decree No. 235/79 by the
government of the province of Buenos
Aires<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buenos_Aires_Province>,
which authorized the celebration and gave it official nature.

In Argentina, Friend's Day is often a good excuse for a common friendly
gathering, though people also employ the day to get in contact with old and
seldom-met friends and greet them. Since it is not a public holiday in
Argentina <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_holidays_in_Argentina>, the
gatherings tend to happen during the evening.

Hi folks,

I didn´t know yesterday was friends day, nice.  So, have a nice day...

What I see is that every commemorative day become a commerce day,
mother´s day, father´s day, friends´s day etc more one date for buy
presents and spend money. What some people forget is that behind a
commemorative
date has always a story and give presents become more important.

Hi! In my my country is an especial day, nobody forgets it, in my case, I
planned friend's day much time before in order to spend time with all my
friends.
Really it's a day with a lot of logistic!

Here in Brazil we don't have the habit to celebrate that festive date.
