The discussion group is a great place to go to get help from your
fellow admins and the Google Apps Advisors. If you have a technical
question, you can help us help you by keeping these tips in mind as
you post:
1. Search first- Lots of common questions have already been answered in
the help discussion group or the help center. You may be able to find
what you need without ever waiting for help.
2. Post in the most relevant group- Got a question about email features
or POP access? Visit the Gmail Help Discussion at
http://groups.google.com/group/Gmail-Help-Discussion. After all,
Google Apps email is based on Gmail. Similarly, questions about using
other services may be best answered by the users and Google Guides who
know the service best. Of course, if you have a question about
managing services, or how a service works in Google Apps, sock it to
us!
3. Sum up the issue- the subject line of your post is a great place to
give a quick rundown of the issue. Titling your post "HELP ME GOOGLE
ARRRGHHH!!!!" might be cathartic, but it won't really help people
understand and answer your question. Instead, try something like "Need
help with MX setup," or "How do I edit my web pages?"
4. Dish out the details- when it comes to technical issues, the more we
know about your issue, the more help we can offer. If possible,
include the following information:
- Domain name:
- Domain hosting service (GoDaddy, eNom, etc- Google isn't a domain hosting service):
- Description of the problem:
- Error Message (if applicable):
- What does Google Apps mean to you?
5. Stay secure- While everyone loves a detailed question, don't include
sensitive information such as passwords in your post, and remember
that the Google Apps Advisors won't ask you to post this info. If you
have an issue you can't discuss in the public forum, you can always
contact the Google Apps support team directly.
6.
Pay It Forward!!- Once you have an answer for your question, we'd love it
if you'd stick around to help other admins. While the Google Apps
Advisors are always here to help out, admins like you are the core of
this group. Your peers and the Advisors appreciate your help
developing this forum and working to improve the service and educate
everyone about Google Apps!
