why do you think that it's not optimal? I organize my complete mp3
collection (15000+) in this way. Very flexible method!

i have question relating the winamps queuing-ability. my girl-friend uses
winamp version 3.?? and her winamp is configurated in that way, so whenever
she is double-clicking on files in her explorer, winamp doesn't play this
song immediately but enqueues it in its list. besides winamp keeps always
the former enqueued list in queue also at every start-up. im using winamp
5.07 and whenever i click on a new song, the fomer list disappears and the
new song or list is enqueued in winamp. im really dying to know how to
configure that. unfortunately i did not find out where the necessary option
is to put this on and off, so that's why i wanted to ask if this has
something to do with the winamp version.

WinAmp [Options]->[Preferences]->[General Preferences]->[File Types]->"Explorer
Settings": set to either enqueue or play on double-click.  Version 3 is probably the
same.  If not you can always go to Windows Explorer's Folder Options->File Types and
change WinAmp's default action to play or enqueue, however you want.

Enqueue adds to current playlist.  Play replaces current playlist.

I've messed around with options preferences but setting
the font size slider seems to do nothing.

I don't know if all these settings have to be the way I have
them, but it's workig so...

Winamp Preferences => Modern Skins => Font Rendering
    only the first(topmost) check box is checked(Use Free
    Tye internal TTF rendering)

Set the two sliders at the bottom of that page to 100%

On the General tab check "Link all windows in all skins"

Now you can move the slider below that checkbox to
proportionately enlarge the skin, along with the bitrate
and sample rate display.

Now before closing the preferences make sure the radio button at the
bottom of the General page has "All windows remember their scale,
disregard global doublesize." selected.

I am trying to watch a video using Winamp but there is no picture but

What I've found is that now I am unable to simply hit the right-arrow key
to skip ahead 5 seconds.  Instead, the video hangs while the audio goes
on.  Any sort of detailed forward or backward movement through the video
is totally screwed, as sometimes the video "catches up" to what the
keyboard commands have told it to do, while other times it remains several
steps behind.

I have 5.093.  I am considering looking for a better player for video
files.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I don't even understand what's
going wrong here, but Winamp is rapidly becoming unusable.

This may seem like a dumb question, but I can't seem to figure out how
to keep the visualizations from cycling.  I get one I like, just start
enjoying it and it changes.  Help?  :-?
