WinAmp and .avi files

I am running WinAmp ver 5.56 on a Dell 2.8MHz computer with 2G of RAM and WinXP Pro. It will play .wmv, .flv, .wav, and .mp3 files. It will no longer play .mp4 videos and when it plays .avi videos it only plays the sound, no video. I've tried the WinAmp Forum twice and no one answerers me. 	Winamp 5.552 defect, won't maximize
	Has anyone else been having problems with this release? It will minimize to the task bar but then not be able to come up again. I multitask and am not able to use it.
