Which distributions of Linx still support lpr/lprng printing by default?

I have just found out that the arseholes behind debian decided to drop support for lpr/lprng printing. The result is that firefox/iceweael, open office, etc can no longer print directly to the lpr/lprng printing system. There is a bodgy entry you can make to gtkrc that allows you to enter a lpr command, but this totally ignores all the configuration(papersize,... mais »

Log console boot messages

Is there a way to log to file the messages during bootup about services starting, those that end with [OK] or [FAILED]? Thanks, Paul

zmodem upload with rz

I can't upload a file larger then 2 gigs with rz. The OS (linux 2.4/ext3) supports large files but it dies at 2 gigs. anyone know how to get rz compiled for large files? I use SecureCRT under WinXP, maybe its that which has a problem sending the large files?

Hey all! I have a simple question, whenever I open my terminal from gnome it starts with a ASCCIart "splashscreen" (donno how to describe it better...) Hi everybody! I just can't figure this out. The problem is: I have a crackling sound in applications.. well, games :) that use SDL.
