Well, the harddrive is big enough, so let linux repartition the drive. Just
make sure you have the recovery cd ready and your personal files on cd/dvd.

From the description I read it has SATA and no free 3.5" enclosure inside,
but you could put a 2nd SATA drive in, with a drive cage from another (old)
computer, or otherwise (may use the 5" slot of the 2nd cd/dvd drive) with
spacers.
Now have a good look at your bios setup again, maybe "try other devices" for
boot should help.
