  I like the UNIX design philosophy where each program does only one &lt;br&gt; thing, and does that one thing exceedingly well. However, the idea is &lt;br&gt; dead.   Well you could use a live puppy but of course getting a ompiler working &lt;br&gt; is fun.. I still think plan 9 might be suitable &lt;br&gt; I have an old xeom here running some sata cards without problem ( server)

  Tried Opensolaris yesterday, but default is gnome on the livecd, ack! &lt;br&gt; (grind up). Need to work out how to just get a basic terminal system and &lt;br&gt; add a lighter WM like icewm. &lt;br&gt; will keep BSd in mind. &lt;br&gt; thanks
