Short answer: Supply and demand.
Longer short answer: Less companies make DDR memory now that DDR2 and DDR3 are being used in new computers. So the DDR prices will be higher, since there is less of them to go around.

DDR2 prices seems to be on the rise lately. I paid $50 for a pair of these two months ago, and now they're $80 (G.SKILL 8500 2 x 2 GB):

It's cheaper in Hong Kong, about HK$200 for 1G !! :)

Hey, hey Boo Boo. Thanks for that, but I was wondering about the trend-- whether DDR3 prices are still falling or also on the rise. Usually when I buy something, the price goes down the next week. Oh, well, it'll be worthless by the time I am ready to sell it!
