Vic, what do you do with your phone? How many minutes/month do you use
on each phone? What extras like SMS, texting do you actually use? How
much internet browsing on it do you do?
There are fantastic alternatives to the postpaid overpriced carrot-
dangling-on-a-stick accounts, now, that can really save you a pile of
money. My Verizon nationwide service to any phone in America cost me
less than $12 last month....total cost, no contract, no unexplainable
addon taxes and bogus fees, no ETF, no funny business.....Nationwide on
the same Verizon system on the same verizon towers you're paying big
money for all these years...same coverage.
Multiply your minutes usage by 5.3c/min....Multiply your wife's by
5.3c/min. Add the two together and tell us what total figure you get
for just phone service, including voicemail if you need it. What's it
come to?
Now, using your Verizon TOTAL bill, not your plan cost, but the TOTAL
bill you write the check for, how much more are you paying than this
figure above....to make the SAME phone calls on the SAME system and
towers?
Multiply that savings by 24, a 2 year "contract" into slavery. What's
that number? If you really NEED new phones, this figure can be used to
buy them. If you're just getting the new-every-two because you want to
be a contract slave, or think you're getting them free (which you're
certainly NOT), don't get new phones. ANY CDMA phones from any source
work on the prepaid plans and you can put them on the prepaid system,
yourself, in about 5 minutes right off the webpage...so easy.
Same service - much cheaper....a no brainer if you just use phone and
text. Monthly plans are available, too, for heavy users. 1200 minutes
+ 1200 Text and SMS (picture) messages + 50 MB of data is $29.95 per
phone...That's a LOT of min and messages. 50MB of data on Verizon at
$1.99/MB is nearly $100!...included. Unlimited Talk + Text with 20MB
data (no pix messages) is only $39.95...per phone...over $100 LESS every
month! What would you do with an extra $1200 next year? Nice vacation?
