My problems with warped rotors on my 03 TL went away after I replaced them
with aftermarket rotors, got the heavy duty ones. Has been great since.
My first car was a 92 civic, and I had problems with it. I finally got
a new set of discs (which didn't cost that much) and made sure I
always checked the torque with my own wrench whenever the wheels had

been off. Never had a problem again once I made sure no one was
overtightening it.

I did my research?
One thing I will check out is the torque on the lugs. It should be 80.
Also based on my research - slotted and cross drilled rotors on a street
car is a waste. Better quality normal rotors might be in order - there
have to be some that won't break the bank.

I think its pretty much an accepted fact Hondas and Acuras from the
early 2000's has brake warping issues.
My '01 CL type S is no exception. hat are my options to stop this from
happening? I am a graduate student so money is an issue.
Is there a set of cross drilled rotors I can gat at a decent price?

I think that federal regulations effectively require ethanol now that
MTBE is not being used. So I don't think you're going to find gas
without ethanol by shopping around.
Since I remember the fuss about MTBE getting into groundwater from
several years ago, I would think pretty much everybody has been using

I would prefer not to have ethanol, but I was under the impression it
was everywhere at least since MTBE became unpopular. I didn't think

the "pick your part" yard sells the whole distributor for 25.00,so I
am thinking that would be the route to go,I get everything in one shot.
the sparkplug hole with the oil in it concerns me,when I pulled the
sparkplug the oil drained down to the cylinder,maybe 2teaspoons
worth,anything I should be really concerned with

Glade to hear it's unlikely taken and may have come off by itself.
Maybe the replacement part has be modified to correct the problem.
When you replace it see if the new one stays on well. If not the base
of later models may have been improved upon to fix the problem.
They are attached firmly on my 2005 TL. I wash and wax it myself by
